Children's Ministries
There are lots and lots of kids around at Fulkerson Park, and we love it! We don't view children as a noisy nuisance to keep quiet while we attend to more spiritual things, but as an integral part of our covenant community. Jesus loved children and teaches us to do the same, so we view children's ministry as both a serious responsibility and a joyful privilege. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment in which children will flourish and thrive as they grow in their understanding of the gospel. There are two primary venues for children's ministry at Fulkerson.
Christian Education
During the Sunday School hour each week (9:15-10:15 am), we offer educational classes for kids of all ages, 2 years old and up (and nursery is provided for the little ones). Our "Tiny Tot's" class (2-3 year olds) enjoy playtime and crafts, as well as a Christ-centered story time using The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones. The Kindergarten class is working through He Established a Testimony, a simple children's curriculum that is focused on the stories of the Old Testament. The 1st and 2nd graders are learning about the attributes of God in a great study called The ABCs of God, while 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are growing in their understanding of faith and holiness in a study called The Good Fight of Faith. Junior and senior high school students meet together for discussion-oriented time of highly-interactive bible study.
Children's Worship
The younger children (4-6 year olds) break off from the main worship service on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of each month for Children's Worship. This is a structured hour that includes a gospel-centered bible story, singing, and Scripture memory, as well as interactive games and crafts.
